Prof. Huisingh received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin in June of 1965 and has continued to be a leading educator and consultant on environmental science, cleaner production and sustainable development in more than 80 countries since his first academic position at North Caroline State University from 1965 to 1987.
Prof. Huisingh is the founder and was the Editor-in-Chiefof the Journal of Cleaner Production from 1992 to 2015. He is the co-founder of The International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education and the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the new journal, “Big Data Mining For Global Warming.
Prof. Huisingh, is an expert in developing, teaching and evaluating curricula for helping to accelerate societal transitions to sustainable, livable, equitable, post fossil-carbon societies. He builds upon system’s approaches to promote life cycle thinking, cleaner production, industrial ecology, eco-efficiency and conscious businesses for achievingsustainable circular economies.
He is the author or co-author of more than 350 publications, including research papers, books and audio-visual productions. He was awardedDistinguished Public Service Award of the State Government of North Carolina in 1983, the Best Contribution Award for Pollution Prevention in the United States in 1988, wasawarded the‘Saipem International Professorship,’ at Politechnico di Milano for the period, Sept, 2017 to March 2018 and wasappointed as Honorary Professor in the Unitelma Sapienza University in Rome in 2018.
Ashim received his B. Tech graduation from Nepal in Food Technology in 2015, an emerging leaders course from Harvard crossroads held in the United Arab Emirates in August 2017 and a professional diploma in cleaner production in the Netherlands from February to March 2018.
He has spent nearly four years of his career in research and development department of a privately-owned group of food manufacturing companies and holds international register of certificated auditors (IRCA) for internal audit on ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 18001:2007.
Recently, he was selected by the European institute of innovation and technology (EIT), Raw materials, research and development council, ‘TrainCall’ project for the training of the trainers in November 2019 in Finland and final meeting member of COST Action E1407, a project of Horizon-2020 of European Union in February 2019 in Italy.Now, he is aiming to catalyze private companies take on leading roles towards sustainable societies in partnership with EIT - ‘Knowledge and Innovation Communities’.
Ashim is a global co-founder of the Holistic Purpose Group, an independent educational team across, USA, Italy and Nepal and a founder and chief of Holistic Purpose Group (Nepal) Private Limited.
Russ is a recognized leader in the global community of Certified B Corporations. He is the founder of Oliver Russell, a social impact branding firm, and co-founder of Humanista, a social purpose consulting firm that advises leaders on transformation to the new economy and also operates PlasticWorks, a mobile lab that upcycles plastics from the waste stream to demonstrate the circular economy model. He is the author of the Amazon business bestseller, Rise Up – How To Build A Socially Conscious Business, and is a contributing writer for Conscious Company Media, Real Leaders, and B The Change. Russ also advises social enterprise startups, including GoodPurpose in Turku, Finland; Business Impact Associates of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; evox Omnimedia, a public benefit corporation in San Francisco, California; Motive Ventures, of Santa Monica, California; and GoodWell in Boise, Idaho.
Dr. Piergiuseppe Morone is Full Professor of Economic Policy at Unitelma Sapienza with a strong interest in green innovation and sustainable development pushing his research at the interface between innovation economics and sustainability transitions, an area of enquiry that has attracted growing attention over the last decade. His work regularly appears in prestigious, innovation and environmental economics journals.
He is coordinator of STAR-ProBio, an H2020 research project aiming at developing sustainability assessment tools for bio-based products and to promote their market penetration.
Prof. Morone is head of the Bioeconomy in Transition Research Group, a research unit at Unitelma Sapienza involved in research concerning the emergence of a circular and bio-based economy.
Prof. Morone is member of the Editorial Boards of Current Opinion in Green and Sustainable Chemistry (ELSEVIER) and Open Agriculture (De Gruyter Open) and acts as Guest Editor for various journal including the Journal of Cleaner Production (ELSEVIER) and Sustainability (MDPI).
In July 2019, Prof. Morone was appointed as the Economic Advisor of the Italian Minister of the Environment, Land and Sea Protection.
